Rick Allen Featured

Rick Allen joined British rock band Def Leppard when he was 15 years old and by 16 was out touring the world. Less than four years later, Def Leppard released Pyromania which established them as a worldwide success and Rick as a young drum superstar. While on break from recording the band's followup record, Rick lost his left arm in a horrific car crash on New Year's Eve in 1984.

Proving that the man was meant to drum, Rick spent the following months relearning to play, and building a new electronic kit that would allow him continue to hold his place, upstage center, with what was about to be one of the world's biggest bands. Rick's public return to the stage was at the 1986 Monsters of Rock festival at Castle of Donington Raceway and to the charts with Def Leppard's 1987 opus, Hysteria. In addition to holding down the backbeat with Def Leppard for nearly four decades, Rick works tirelessly with veterans through the Wounded Warrior Project and his own Raven Drum Foundation to provide counseling and inspiration to those affected by the traumas of war.
