Hi,

Please, find attached the file and instructions for updating the firmware of Yamaha DTXtremeIIs to version 1.05.

You will need a Smart Media card (capacity of 2 MB minimum).

How to update software of Yamaha DTXTREME II S

Before performing the update process, be sure to back up the user data to smart media. Page 90 of manual.

1. Save the firmware data (“YAMAHA01.bin”, “YAMAHA02.bin”) into the root
directory of Smart Media using a PC or Mac computer.
2. Insert the card to the DTXTREME II S module.
3. Power on while holding down both [UP] (1) and [DOWN] (2) switch, the message
“UPDATE FIRMWARE” will be shown. Don’t power off while updating firmware.
* The version number below is different according to the firmware version.
4. Pull out the card and power on while holding down [SHIFT] (3), you can confirm the
software on LCD.

... looks like Yamaha haven't set this forum up correctly. All attachments get sent down as ASCII with no correct MIME header encoding. Whoops.

Finally worked it out. Download to Mac, rename as .TXT. Open in TextEdit, delete leading spaces. Rename as .ZIP. Then I was able to open it.

... well done! Be more helpful if the Yamaha person who fudged this off-the-shelf forum would read the manual on MIME types....

Good job I did, I contacted Yamaha support in Germany and they couldn't find a digital copy of the firmware

I am doing it as you indicate, but without success. I get a damaged file error. I am not able to find the damn firmware anywhere. HELP please, I need to update my module: S Thank you!

There is no way to upgrade to version 1.05. Neither does it go anywhere to download, nor do those in yamaha, nor does the file that is here in the forum help me, since I don't know how to open it. I do everything the partner indicates, but a damaged file error appears. I'm desperate: S
