I connect my iPad2 (iOS 8.1) using 30pin > USB A cable, then into an adapter (USB A female > USB B male) so i can go into that USB TO HOST port.

I start the M12 touch app, but nothing happens. The connect-light at the right bottom of the app stays dark. The two devices DO NOT recognize each other.

Are there any settings from within the Multi 12 utilities, that need to be changed? Or within iOS?

Shouldn't it just connect or at least acknowledge a connection of some kind?

What genius at YAMAHA thought of requiring a cable that does NOT exist?
From Lightning/30pin to USB B you need a bloody exotic adapter. Why not use the USB A port of the DTX Multi 12??

Did anyone actually get this thing to work?

Don't use the Apple "sync" cable with an adapter - it will not work. Use the Apple Camera Connection Kit with a standard USB A<>B cable.

Join the (pointless, they aren't listening) push to get Yamaha to port it to Android ;)

I did a uninstall/reinstall of the app to wake it up.
Did you change the midi output setting to USB? Utility 6-9 I think.
