Hi, I'm able to receive into DTX-Multi 12 Program Changes from P001 to P050.
I am sending Program Change 1-50 on channel 10 and everything works great for Presets 1-50.

Now, my question is how can I send Program Change in order to change the User Kits (U001-U200)?

Thanks,
Adrian

Program changes for User kits must be paired with the correct Bank Select MSB and LSB values. User kits 1 - 100 would require MSB = 125, LSB = 1, and User kits 101 - 200 would require MSB = 125, LSB = 2. It is very common to see Bank Select MSB referred to in your DAW as Controller #0 and Bank LSB referred to as Controller #32.

So to select User user kit 1 you would need to transmit:

MSB (controller 0) value = 125
LSB (controller 32) value = 1
Program change 1
all on channel 10

To select User user kit 101 you would need to transmit:

MSB (controller 0) value = 125
LSB (controller 32) value = 2
Program change 1
all on channel 10

Thank you for your answer.
Can you point out an idea on how to apply this in Ableton Live or Max/Msp?

Thank you very much,
Adrian

Hi!

The DTX Multi 12 Data List document (page 20) states:

In all of these cases, a drum voice can be selected for MIDI channels other than
channel 10; however, the drum map used is identical to that for channel 10.

What does exactly mean "drum voice" and "drum map"?

I'd like to select two different kits ("voices"?) on different MIDI channels, but it plays only the first one, selected in the KIT screen.
