NEWBIE NEEDS HELP https://www.yamahadtx.com/forum/newbie-needs-help-1 https://www.yamahadtx.com/forum/newbie-needs-help-1 Newbie here trying to setup my Yamaha dt50s to my acoustic drums using my dtx502 module. Actually trying to get a rim sound and not quite sure what I'm doing wrong. I've reset my module to factory settings in order to get vin check started. I'm on firmware version 1.30. in the initial setup I chose kit dt50 as i don't see the dtx502 on there. Since I want a dual sound I installed the stereo cable supplied with my dt50s into the kick input. I'm able to get a head sound but not able to get a rim sound. what am I doing wrong.

These settings are for the DTXIII/900 but work on any module with envelope settings, the values may not match, especially if they are not DTX.

HIGH ATTACK
Plastic Beater - Q +20
Wood Beater - +20 Attack / Q +15
Felt Beater - All values 0
Flat Beater - +22 Attack
Fluffy Beater - +25 Attack / -30 Filter
SOFT ATTACK

For other modules note:
+ Attack values, mean actually starting the sample later, removing the slap sound, it can be - value instead on your module.
Filter and Q settings are for a Low Pass Filter, it means the settings are for High frequencies.

This would be very cool if implemented on the DTX900 interface as shortcuts.
It can be fun also to try it on the Snare or Toms.

Compatibility https://www.yamahadtx.com/forum/compatibility https://www.yamahadtx.com/forum/compatibility
I'm new to this forum so please excuse me if I pose some questions already posed or even answered.

I have got the possibility to obtain a DTX 900 M module (only the brain) at a very good price. I own some Roland pads (mesh headed, dual trigger type, such as PDX 8 or KD8 for kick). Can I use those pads with DTX 900?

As far as cables are concerned, is the YAMAHA ZZ36560 (a set of 9 cables intended to be used on DTX 400) compatible?

Thank you very much.
For example, I want a snare drum sound and handclap layered with it. I've tried the "Stack" function, but that doesn't seem to work. The user manual has a section for stack/alt but I'm just not understanding how it works. I've looked for YouTube videos on the subject but so far, nothing. Anyone know how to do this?
Help with DTX900 module settings https://www.yamahadtx.com/forum/help-with-dtx900-module-settings https://www.yamahadtx.com/forum/help-with-dtx900-module-settings
I just bought a DTX920HWK kit. I love it, but the module is (to me) not intuitive and hard to navigate. I've figured many things out on my own using the manual, but there are still a few issues that I can't seem to figure out. As a lead-in, I have owned several Roland kits including a TD-20, two Alesis kits, including the Strike Pro, and long ago I owned a Yamaha DTXtreme III, but really did not delve into the capabilities of the module, as I was new to e-drums at the time.

So, here are my questions:

1. Is it possible to delete a user kit that is stored in the internal memory without having to do a factory reset of all the kits?

2. I have created (created, not loaded) two user kits and have them stored to the internal memory. If I load a new kit via flash drive with a .T3A file, will it "wipe out" all existing data on the user kit memory? Should all user kits be stored onto a flash drive instead? And if so, what is the point of having the user kits stored to internal memory if they are erased when loading any new kits?

3. How can I loop a user .wav voice? The only "voices" that I see that can be looped are user made samples from recording into the sampler, and also the pad songs can be looped. I don't see in the manual how to loop a .wav file.

Any help answering my questions would be awesome. I absolutely love the sounds from the module in comparison to Roland and Alesis, and I LOVE the HWK set... the stands and mounting hardware are brilliant!

Thanks so much,
Setting up external instrument - Yamaha DTX900 - separate outs https://www.yamahadtx.com/forum/setting-up-external-instrument-yamaha-dtx900-separate-outs https://www.yamahadtx.com/forum/setting-up-external-instrument-yamaha-dtx900-separate-outs
Grateful if anyone can shed any light on how to do this - I am having multiple problems in setting up my Yamaha DTX900 drum kit to integrate properly with cubase pro 8.5

The kit has separate audio outs spread over 3 mono pornhub tracks and 2 stereo. These go through my MOTU 8pre xvidios interface and onwards to cubase wher I can record the drum sounds on separate tracks as I want them. That's fine but...

I understand that I can set up the DTX xvideos as an external beeg instrument - got so far with that - the software gives the option of routing the outputs the same - so I imagined I dinotube should be able to record the MIDI output of the kit - have cubase send the MIDI back to the module and have the audio automatically streamed to separate cubase tracks.

Well that's where it all goes pear shaped - I'm confused about how I need to set up VST connections, I'm getting weird inconsistencies with only for example the cymbals sounding etc etc I'm torn between accepting xnxx that I've misunderstood the capabilities of the machinery/software or missed something obvious or should carry on suspecting that I have a technical fault with something

I have tried to sort this out on and off for over 2 years so I really would appreciate some help - has anyone ever set such a system up?

Recently I have upgraded my DAW PC to Windows 10 and am using an RME UFX+ audio interface (using the Thunderbolt interface to the PC). The UFX+ has two MIDI ports.

My question is: Would I be better off using the UFX+ MIDI ports to get the DTX MIDI data to the PC or should I continue to use the (somewhat outdated) USB 1.1 from the brain to my PC? Is there any timing advantage (eg with buzz rolls, simultaneous hits, etc) using the USB 1.1 vs. MIDI ports on the brain?
Drum Heads simulation https://www.yamahadtx.com/forum/drum-heads-simulation https://www.yamahadtx.com/forum/drum-heads-simulation
I'm only working on the DTXIII/900 module, unfortunally each sample has to have different settings applied, there is no magic formula and the original samples have to be recorded with full resonant heads that Yamaha wisely did for the DTX.
So far I tested on the kick drum:
Clear heads
Thick heads
Coated
Ebony (yes ebony sounds different than Clear heads)
Calfskin
Double heads
Heads with mylar rings
Heads with foam rings.
It is possible to create other type of heads that don't exist, like a coated head without ressonance, but I'm keeping it 100% real.

Everything is working and amazing how a kit can sound and feel so different with all these simulating heads.
Almost finishing the Bass drum heads, ahead there is snare and tom heads to work on.

Anyway this forum is as dead as the DTXIII/900...
