Hey Anand. Sorry to hear that! Seems like you have all the software up to date. May I ask what cable you are using to connect your phone to the EAD? It has to be a USB Type B to Lightning cable like this one - https://www.amazon.com/MeloAudio-Compatible-Controller-Electronic-Microphone%EF%BC%8C5FT/dp/B07FLWN6G4/ref=sr_1_4?crid=2ZL815EV50SGG&keywords=usb+b+to+lightning+cable&qid=1578590270&sprefix=usb+b+to+lightning%2Caps%2C184&sr=8-4

    Hello Ian,

    Thanks for your prompt response.

Yes I am using similar cable, in fact I have tried 2 sets of cable with similar response.

When ever I connect, it works for couple of minutes and then disconnects with the message. I contacted Apple support and they asked me to contact Yamaha.

Just FYI, EAD10 is working fine with Rec'n'Share app on a Android device. However Rec'n'Share crashes when I try to access recorded video

Please let me know any additional info required which may help in resolving this issue.

    Regards
    Anand

It sounds like an issue with the iOS app! Try deleting and downloading the Rec'n'Share app again and let us know if that works!

    Hi Ian,

Yes only type B connects. Also keep in mind that it works for more than 1 minute every time I connect. So connectivity is established and cabling is correct.

Maybe software it is not able to handle some exception.

    Cheers...

I'm sure you have tried to restart your phone? Just out of interest, what phone are you using? If your phone is an Android, it has to be a USB OTG compatible device. You might even actually need a USB OTG adapter to connect to the EAD. Something like this - https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Adapter-Samsung-Controller-Smartphone/dp/B00LN3LQKQ/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=usb+otg+adapter&qid=1579022372&sr=8-3

I'm getting the same error after using the ead10 to record tracks directly into a computer, when I wanted to switch back to the ipad+Rec n' share I get the same error as you.
One thing I noticed is that in the past with the device connected to my ipad if I tried to use the internal recorder it used to "change audio drivers" as it does currently with a pc connection but not with the ipad anymore.

Do you also have the most current software versions for the EAD10, Rec'n'Share app, and iPad and iPhone iOS?

Hello Ian, Android device I am using is Redmi Note 4. I am using same connector on Android. It works very well for practice, records as well on Rec'n'Share. It crashes only when I try to access recorded video.

    Crash error is:

    java.lang.IllegalArgumentException
    at android.media.MediaMetadataRetriever.setDataSource(MediaMetadataRetriever.java:71)
    at jp.co.yamaha.emi.rec_n_share.presenters.Recorded.RecordedFragment$onResume$1.run(RecordedFragment.kt:85)
    at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:760)

I think app developer will be able to figure out what's going wrong. Is there a way to send this error message to the app developer.

    Cheers...

Thanks for including that information. I'll try to troubleshoot and if not, will bring this up with the developers! In the meantime, keep us updated if you make any progress.
