Hi music makers of the internet!

I bought a dtx multi-12 this summer and I was wondering how you guys use it live. I plan on using my own sounds/samples. The internal memory is pretty limited so the ipad app was my choice to control my samples but there is latency and when I try to use it with Ableton, there is latency too (if the there are multiple tracks loaded).

Is my unit at fault or is this latency normal? If not, then how can I avoid this to use the dtx live?

Thanks a ton!

What sort of samples are you firing off? I assume long (track-length) type things?
I hang a Roland TM2 or SP404 off mine for those sort of things. Best of all worlds. And no computers to fight.

    Hey Robin,

Cool about the M12! Yes the internal memory is limited, but as far as the Ableton question.....

Are you running a Left and Right out, into a mixer, then a USB from the mixer into your laptop as a live setup?

    Some other thoughts...….

Esoteric loops that don't have a lot of timing factors involved.....you could load samples directly into the App, but as far as more in-depth/longer samples, it might be causing some of the latency/lag problems.

Also, Make sure the Multi12 is communicating with the iPad correctly.

If your still having issues, I would say to just load samples directly into Ableton, and not the M12 App. This is probably the easiest solution...…..

Hopefully that makes sense, let me know how its going Robin!
